Many people are unaware that they may be eligible to vote by mail using an absentee ballot. Those who are aware are sometimes intimidated by the process. In 2008, some people experienced long lines at their county voter registration office or a busy signal when they tried to begin the absentee process over the phone.

Now, thanks to the SCGOP and the Victory 2010 program, accomplishing the first step and beginning the absentee voting process is easier than ever before!

Greene Sheheen Democrat Machine

As much as Democrats want to distance themselves from their Senate nominee, both the Attorney General's office and the state Election Commission say that there's no evidence of anything but Alvin Greene winning fair and square. Now his name will head up the 2010 Democrat ticket.

Vincent Sheheen can run, but he can't hide. It was bad enough that he had to share the ticket with Congressman John Spratt in the 5th and Rob Miller in the 2nd. Now Sheheen's name will appear right under Alvin Greene's on the statewide ballot.

Still First In the South

South Carolina will maintain its position as the first Republican presidential primary in the South, according to a calendar approved by the Republican National Committee Friday.

The RNC voted to move early-voting states such as Iowa, New Hampshire and S.C. to February primaries. In 2008, a number of states tried to move up their scheduled election dates resulting in S.C. moving its date to January.
